Exeter Track & Field delivered a strong all-around performance on the Lovshin Track on Saturday, highlighted by another historic day from
Caden Green. Just three weeks after setting the program record in the discus, Green reset the mark once again with a massive throw of 207'4", further cementing his place among the nation's elite. He wasn't done there as he added another victory in the shot put with a throw of 63'11".
On the track, Exeter claimed seven of the top eight spots in the 100m, led by
Jordan Hayden's winning time of 10.89, followed by
Caden Drobinski (2nd, 11.42),
Aaron Spence (3rd, 11.43), and
Elias Warner (4th, 11.57). The dominance continued in the 200m, where Hayden again took first (21.99), with
Ty Neal (2nd, 22.86), Spence (3rd, 22.88), and Warner (4th, 23.28) leading a strong Big Red contingent.
The 4x100m relay team of Warner, Neal, Spence, and Hayden captured first in 43.82, while the 4x400m relay squad of Hayden,
Rhys Cunningham,
Collin Moore, and Warner closed the meet in style with a winning time of 3:27.99. In the hurdles,
Alex Harwich led a 1-2 finish in the 300m hurdles with a time of 40.39, followed by
Ethan Benenson in second.
Joshua Belcher cleared 6'2" to win the high jump, with
Griffin Breault finishing second.
Rehan Akanda claimed the pole vault (10'6"), while Nick Limoli took top honors in the triple jump (37'6.5").
Carter Johnson added another first-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 158'4".
Behind Green in the discus,
Brayden Murch (2nd), Zachary Kenison (3rd),
Dana Mussulman (4th), and
Shaib Abubakar (5th) completed a dominant showing. The shot put saw similar depth, with Abubakar (2nd), Mussulman (3rd), Kenison (4th), and Murch (5th) finishing behind Green.
On the girls side, Exeter turned in an equally impressive performance, highlighted by a sweep of multiple events and strong relay efforts. The 4x100m relay team of
Rylie Choie, Emmanuela Folorunso,
Charlie Kim, and
Ayana Okuneye opened with a win in 50.23.
Anna Taormina was a standout, winning both the 100m hurdles (15.78) and 300m hurdles (48.00), while also contributing to the victorious 4x400m relay team alongside Okuneye,
Linda Kozma-Vig, and
Rylie Choi (4:10.03). Choi also shined individually, winning the 400m in 58.34, with Okuneye (2nd) and
Kelly Ugbala (3rd) completing a strong finish for Big Red.
In the distance events,
Lia Blitza claimed the 1500m title (5:35.73), and
Olivia Littlefield won the 800m (2:30.38). In the field, Emmanuela Folorunso soared to victory in the long jump (16'4"), while Thea Vaughn and
Ellen Orr went 1-2 in the pole vault, both clearing 7'0".
Big Red will return to the Lovhshin Track next Saturday when they host Deerfield Academy and Northfield Mount Hermon at 1:00pm.
