Exeter track and field delivered a handful of impressive performances at the Boston University Terrier Invite, highlighted by a national-qualifying run and a wave of personal bests against a deep, competitive field.
The headline performance came from
Truman Yee, who turned in a terrific effort in the 1,000 meters. Yee clocked 2:32.29, an improvement from his previous best of 2:36.91, and a time that qualifies him for nationals in the event.
Marcus Kiehl also enjoyed a big day, running 2:33.42 to shave nearly three seconds off his prior best of 2:36.38.
Exeter's 400 meters group showed also performed well with multiple personal best performances. Â
Alex Harwich posted one of the biggest drops of the day, racing to a 50.54 after entering with a 53.76 personal best.
Rhys Cunningham followed closely with a 50.77, marking his fastest indoor performance by more than two seconds. In his first-ever indoor 400-meter race,
Jordan Hayden turned in a strong 51.18.
Collin Moore turned in a personal record time of 51.82, improving on his previous indoor best of 53.56, while
Elias Warner lowered his indoor mark to 51.92 from 52.99.
In the sprints,
Aaron Spence capped off the day with another personal best, running 22.88 in the 200 meters to improve on his previous time of 23.21.
Big Red will be back in action on Wednesday in their home finale at 3:30pm in the Thompson Field House.
