Powered by a nationally elite performance from
Caden Green, Exeter Track & Field turned in a strong day hosting the third NHIAA Indoor Track Meet of the season.
Green headlined the meet in the shot put, launching a winning throw of 61-02.25 to take first place. The mark currently ranks as the seventh-best throw in the country this season.
On the track, the Exeter boys delivered an impressive showing in the 600 meters.
Truman Yee claimed first place in 1:25.59, with
Rhys Cunningham right behind in second at 1:26.35.
Bo Howland-Vlahakis rounded out the podium with a third-place finish in 1:28.74, then returned later in the meet to capture first place in the 1000 meters, crossing the line in 2:36.05. In the 300 meters,
Alex Harwich placed second in 36.54, followed closely by
Elias Warner in third at 36.63.
Exeter also excelled in the field events, particularly in the pole vault.
Dana Mussulman cleared 13-09.00 to earn first place, while
Finn Mussulman added a second-place finish at 11-06.00, giving Big Red a one-two result.
On the girls side,
Eliza Grossman highlighted the day with a third-place finish in the 600 meters in 1:41.11, setting an Exeter prep record in the event.
Ava Bullock followed closely in fourth at 1:41.57, while
Harper Peters placed sixth in 1:45.71, giving Exeter three top-six finishes in the race.
Norah Pratt earned third place in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:10.98.
Anna Taormina placed third in the 55-meter hurdles at 9.75, and
Quinn Nash-Webber secured second place in the pole vault, clearing 8-06.00.
Exeter will look to carry the momentum from another successful home meet as the indoor season continues to build toward championship competition.
Exeter will be back in action on Wednesday when they host the fourth NHIAA meet of the year.
