Exeter track and field opened the 2025–26 season in impressive fashion on Saturday afternoon, hosting the first NHIAA meet of the year inside the Thompson Field House.
The Exeter boys turned in several standout performances.
Jordan Hayden captured first place in a highly competitive 55-meter dash, crossing the line in 6.52—just .01 ahead of the runner-up from Pinkerton Academy.
Zylen Campbell also claimed a victory, winning the 600 meters in 1:25.74, while the 4x400 relay team of
Alex Harwich,
Elias Warner,
Collin Moore, and
Rhys Cunningham finished first with a time of 3:32.11.
Marcus Kiehl added a second-place finish in the 1000 meters, clocking 2:36.38.
In the field events,
Caden Green delivered a highlight performance, setting a Thompson Field House facility record with a throw of 58 feet, 8 inches to win the shot put.
Shaib Abubakar followed with a strong third-place finish at 50 feet.
On the girls side,
Kelly Ugbala led the way with a pair of solid performances, finishing fourth overall in the 300 meters in 45.20 while also posting a 7.92 in the 55-meter dash.
Hannah Gibbs turned in a strong showing in the high jump, clearing 4 feet, 6 inches, and
Kristine Qiao crossed the line in 6:53.72 in the 1500 meters.
