Big Red track delivers big performances in NHIAA meet

Exeter track and field hosted their second NHIAA indoor track & field meet of the season on Saturday afternoon inside the Thompson Field House, with Big Red athletes turning in a series of strong performances throughout the afternoon.

On the boys side, Exeter picked up multiple event victories and podium finishes. Zylen Campbell continued his standout start to the season, winning the 600 meters in 1:23.55. Alex Harwich added a first-place finish of his own in the 300 meters, crossing the line in 37.47, while Collin Moore placed third in the same event with a time of 38.05. Fogo Filani earned a third-place finish in the 55 meters (6.77).

Distance events also highlighted a productive day for Big Red. Truman Yee placed second in the 1000 meters with a time of 2:36.91, followed closely by Owen Welch in fourth (2:40.13). In the 1500 meters, Ethan Benenson finished second in 4:33.17, with Ved Reddy right behind in third at 4:33.25. James Travis added a third-place result in the 3000 meters (10:07.49).

In the field, Griffin Breault earned runner-up finishes in both the high jump (5-7.00) and the long jump (19-11.75). The pole vault saw Dana Mussulman clear 13-0.00 to claim first place, while Finn Mussulman finished second at 11-0.00. Exeter also dominated the shot put, with Caden Green winning the event with a throw of 57-2.25 and Shaib Abubakar placing second at 47-3.75.

The girls team also delivered a strong showing highlighted by Ava Bullock's victory in the 1000 meters (3:08.46). Anna Taormina earned a third-place finish in the 55-meter hurdles (9.86) and later placed sixth in the 300 meters (48.07). In the 1500 meters, Harper Peters finished second (5:10.51), followed by Julia Malysa in third (5:13.12) and Eliza Grossman in fourth (5:24.36).

Exeter placed three athletes inside the top five of the 3000 meters, led by Annika Nystedt in third (11:47.34), Jocelyn Wen in fourth (11:50.38), and Priscilla Lu in fifth (12:12.16). Emmanuela Folorunso rounded out the day with a first-place finish in the long jump, clearing 15-7.00.
