Two more school records fell by the wayside on Saturday as
Jaylen Bennett and
Jannah Maguire each put forth incredible performances at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational at Boston University.
Both Bennett and Maguire competed against stacked fields filled with collegiate runners from around the country. Bennett earned first place overall in the men's 500m and came in blazing with a school record time of 1:02.68, one of the top times in the nation this season. The senior sprinter also ran to a time of 7.03 in the 60m dash.
Maguire cruised to a new school record in the 400m, cruising to a time of 58.18. Maguire also competed in the 200m dash where she crossed at 25.68.
This past Wednesday, Big Red saw several more records fall as
Alex Harwich reset his own prep record in the 55m hurdles with a time of 8.77.
Marcus Kiehl set a new prep record in the 1,000m when he cross at 2:42.79.
Rhys Cunningham,
Rose Mallory,
Kelly Ugbala, and
Zylen Campbell set a new school record in the mixed 4x400m relay with a time of 3:57.99.
Big Red returns to action on Wednesday in the Thompson Field House. Events will begin at 2:30p.
