ATH-Baseball-Mike Hicks Head Coach

Mike Hicks elevated to head coach of Exeter Baseball

The Exeter Athletics Department has announced Mike Hicks as the next head coach of the Big Red baseball program. Hicks, who has served as an assistant coach with the team for the past two seasons, assumes leadership of the program after making an immediate impact on the coaching staff while bringing an extensive background in player development, performance, and leadership to the role.

"Mike has been an outstanding addition to our baseball program," said Jason Baseden, Director of Physical Education and Athletics. "He has an exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships with our students, approaches each day with purpose, and is committed to continuous growth. We are excited to have him lead our program and build upon the strong tradition of Exeter baseball."

"I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to lead the Exeter baseball program," said Hicks. "Exeter represents excellence in every sense and I am excited to become an even greater part of this remarkable community."
Hicks is the founder of R3VAMP Performance Center, where he specializes in student-athlete development, performance enhancement, and sport psychology. Combining extensive coaching experience, advanced education, and firsthand competitive success, he has spent more than a decade helping athletes maximize both their physical and mental performance.

Beyond his work with R3VAMP, Hicks has held leadership and player development roles with the New England Stampede and Mass Athletics AAU Baseball programs, working with athletes ranging from youth players to collegiate prospects. Throughout his career, he has helped develop countless collegiate athletes while mentoring players who have advanced to professional baseball, including Major League Baseball.

Hicks enjoyed a successful collegiate playing career at both Saint Anselm College (NCAA Division II) and Endicott College (NCAA Division III). He continued competing throughout New England's premier amateur baseball leagues, including the MABL, CABL, Yawkey Baseball League, Boston Park League, and Intercity League. Along the way, he was named Sunset League MVP in 2009, MABL MVP in 2014, CABL Rookie of the Year in 2018, and CNEBL Team MVP in 2024, while earning multiple All-Star selections and First Team honors.

He earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and coaching certification from Endicott College in 2012 before completing a Master of Science in Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Western States in 2022.
In addition to his coaching and sport psychology credentials, Hicks is an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer and ISSA Certified Nutritionist, a Level 2 Reflexive Performance Reset (RPR) Practitioner, and CPR/AED certified through the American Red Cross. His holistic approach integrates physical training, nutrition, mental performance, team building, and athlete development to help individuals perform at their highest level.

"Our mission as a coaching staff is to motivate, teach, support, and develop our student-athletes into exceptional students, elite competitors, and leaders on and off the field. We believe is developing the whole person – mind, body, and spirit – while creating an environment built on integrity, accountability, discipline, and genuine care for one another. Success will be measured not only by wins and losses, but by the character our young men develop, the relationships they build, and the impact they have on those around them."

"I am excited to work alongside our student-athletes, their families, alumni, and the entire Big Red community as we build on the proud tradition of Exeter Baseball."
