Exeter baseball split a doubleheader on the road at Worcester Academy, dropping the opener 11-3 before responding with an emphatic 11-3 win in game two.

After a loss in the opening game of the day, Big Red bounced back in a big way behind a strong all-around performance. John Rodriguez led the charge on the mound, working five innings while limiting Worcester to just four hits and two runs (one earned) and striking out three. Devin Boles was dominant in relief, striking out five over two innings to shut the door.

Offensively, Amari Lewis sparked the lineup from the leadoff spot, going 2-for-2 with two walks, three runs scored, and a stolen base. Mo Hood added a strong performance, finishing 2-for-4 with a walk, two RBI, and two runs scored.

Logan McIntyre delivered a big day at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a triple, three RBI, and a run scored, while David Deluties contributed 2-for-3 with a triple, a walk, two RBI, and two runs scored.

The game was tight early, with the teams tied 1-1 through three innings, but Exeter broke it open with three runs in the fourth. Big Red added two more in the sixth before erupting for five runs in the seventh to pull away.

With the split, Big Red improves to 4-3 on the year and returns to action on Monday when they play host to Lawrence Academy at 5:30 p.m.
