Exeter girls water polo opened the 2026 season in strong fashion on the road, earning a 10–8 victory over Deerfield in a competitive matchup on Saturday afternoon.
Powered by a balanced offensive effort, Big Red saw four different players find the back of the net, with
Talia Sandhu leading the way with a standout four-goal performance.
Exeter also gained a critical edge in possession thanks to
Mena Boardman, who went a perfect 4-for-4 on sprints, consistently giving Big Red extra opportunities on offense and setting the tone for the team's tempo.
Defensively, Exeter was anchored by a strong debut from goalkeeper
Murphy Kelleher. Kelleher turned aside eight shots, including several close-range attempts from Deerfield to earn the victory.
Exeter will open its home schedule on Saturday, April 4, hosting Williston Northampton at 3:45 p.m. and Loomis Chaffee at 5:15 p.m.
