Exeter boys squash earned a hard-fought road victory on Saturday afternoon, edging Nobles, 4–3.
Big Red picked up four decisive wins throughout the ladder to secure the team result. At the No. 2 position,
Matias Yau set the tone with a composed straight-games victory, 3–0 (11-7, 12-10, 11-6).
Maverick Hilal followed with a strong performance at No. 4, earning a 3–1 win (11-6, 11-3, 7-11, 11-8). Hilal rebounded after dropping the third game to close out the match.
The match swung decisively in Exeter's favor at No. 6, where
AJ Jay delivered the thriller of the afternoon. After falling behind 2-0, Jay stormed back to claim a dramatic 3–2 victory (9-11, 4-11, 11-5, 11-8, 11-7).
Jayden Lu sealed the team win at No. 7 with a steady 3–1 decision (11-8, 11-13, 11-7, 11-9), battling through a tight second game before asserting control down the stretch.
The win is the third straight for Big Red as they improve to 8-2 on the season. Exeter will be back in action on Wednesday when they play host to Andover at 2:45pm.
