Grace Reilly's goal in the opening four minutes of play proved to be the game-winner as Exeter girls hockey topped Rivers 3-0 on Friday night. Reilly corralled the puck along the boards and skated down the middle of the offensive zone before unleashing a wrist shot to the top corner of the net to give Big Red an early 1-0 lead.
The score would remain the same until
Mia Griffith and
Maria Gray potted a pair of empty-net goals in the final minute of action as Exeter skated to a 3-0 win.
Eva Mai Whyte was superb in between the pipes for the hosts, anchoring a strong defensive effort while earning the shutout.
Exeter will look to make it three victories in a row tomorrow when they travel to St. George's for a 3:00pm puck drop.
