Boys basketball tops Milton, advances to Class A semi's

Boys varsity basketball came away with a grind-it-out 76-64 win over a tough Milton Academy squad in the NEPSAC Class A Quarterfinals on Wednesday night at Love Gymnasium.

It was a complete team effort for the Big Red. Ryder Frost and Luke Soden led Exeter in scoring with 23 points and 18 points, respectively, but key contributions of every player that checked into the game were instrumental to the victory.

Knotted at 43-43 midway through the second half, the hosts went on a 15-5 run over four minutes to stake a ten-point advantage and gain control of the game. Familiar foes in the playoffs, tonight marked the seventh straight season Exeter and Milton have met in the Class A tournament.

Big Red, the No. 2 seed in the tournament, advances to the Class A semifinal which will be held on Saturday at Love Gymnasium at 1:30p where they will square off with third-seeded Tabor Academy. Tabor captured a victory over Exeter in the lone meeting between the two schools in the regular season.
