Second half surge propels boys basketball past Worcester

Exeter boys basketball turned an early deficit into a convincing 78–63 win over Worcester Academy on Wednesday afternoon. The victory marks the seventh straight for Big Red who are now 14-5 overall on the season.

Big Red faced an early challenge, trailing by double digits midway through the opening half, but steadily worked their way back. The comeback was capped just before the horn, when Shawn O'Neill knocked down a buzzer-beating three from the corner to give Exeter a 40–38 lead at the break.

From there, it was all Big Red. Exeter set the tone immediately in the second half, controlling the pace and building a double-digit lead of their own over the opening five minutes of play.

Jayden Duverne powered the surge with 15 points, all coming after halftime. Christian Chartier followed with 13 points, while Josh Belcher added 12 and Cole McClure chipped in 10. Charlie Mills rounded out the scoring with five points as Exeter showcased balanced production across the lineup.

Exeter will vie for their eighth straight win on Saturday when they travel to Deerfield Academy at 2:00pm.
