Explosive offense carries boys hockey past Albany

Exeter boys hockey picked up their second victory in as many games as they skated past Albany Academy by a score of 7-0 on Friday night.

The Big Red offense, which has scored 15 goals in their past two outings, was firing on all cylinders from the opening drop of the puck and skated with possession across three periods. A power play goal by Gavin Fitzpatrick was sandwiched in between tallies from Brendan St. Peter and Dryden Dervish as Big Red jumped out to a 3-0 first period lead. The hosts would put up three more in the second before Will Cavanagh capped the scoring with a goal in the third period.

Brendan St. Peter (2 G, 1 A), Cavanagh (1 G, 2 A), and Fitzpatrick (1 G, 2 A) each finished with three points on the night while Alex Stahl and Noah Poinsett-Yoshida added a goal and an assist apiece. In total, twelve Exeter skaters found their way on to the scoresheet.

Lucas Mesika made the start and stopped all 32 shots he faced to earn the shutout.

Big Red will return to their home ice tomorrow when they play host to Choate at 12:00p.
