Exeter boys hockey delivered a complete performance to earn a 4–1 win over Phillips Academy Andover on Saturday afternoon.
Brendan Petraco anchored the effort in goal, turning aside 39 of 40 shots to lift Big Red to victory.
After falling behind 1-0 early in the first period, Big Red bounced back with goals from
Noah Poinsett-Yoshida and
Cam Fiasconaro to erase the deficit and stake a 2-1 lead at the end of the opening period.
Jack Marquardt would extend the Big Red lead to 3-1 with a goal midway through the second period before
Joe Sasso would connect in the third period on the power play to give the hosts the 4-1 advantage.
Poinsett-Yoshida finished with three points on the day, while Fiasconaro finished with a goal and an assist. Brendman McCarthy added a pair of assists and
Escher Briere added a helper.
Up next, Big Red will head to Tabor Academy for a 5:00pm puck drop on Wednesday.
