Exeter boys hockey closed strong on the road Saturday, scoring three times in the third period to pull away for a 5–2 win over Proctor Academy.
Locked in a 2–2 tie heading into the final frame, Exeter delivered its best hockey of the afternoon over the final frame to secure the win.
Five different players found the back of the net in a balanced offensive effort as
Tyler Callander,
Joe Sasso,
Eric Bagg,
Escher Briere, and
Aiden Craft each tallied for Big Red.
In net,
Lucas Mesika was steady throughout, stopping 20 of 22 shots and coming up with timely saves to keep the game level before Exeter broke it open in the third.
Big Red will return to their home ice on Friday when they welcome Albany Academy. Puck drop is set for 5:00pm.
