Exeter girls hockey punched its ticket to the championship game of the annual Exeter Invitational with a convincing 5–0 victory over Kimball Union Academy on Saturday afternoon.
Lainey Fortney opened the scoring by tipping in the game's first goal, setting the tone early for Big Red.
Paisley Meyer followed with a tally of her own, while
Maria Gray powered the offense with a hat trick.
Lily Sabol was sharp between the pipes, turning aside every shot she faced to earn the shutout and propel Exeter into the title game.
The semifinal win came on the heels of a strong opening-round performance Friday night, when Exeter skated past Brewster Academy, 4–2. Meyer continued her strong weekend with a pair of goals, while
Emma Shu and
Samantha Crowley also found the back of the net.
Ellen Orr earned the win in goal.
Big Red will host Hill School in Sunday's championship game at 1:30 p.m., a rematch of the 2024 Exeter Invitational final won by Exeter, 3–2.
