Neal's four touchdowns powers football past Deerfield

Exeter football put together a dominant performance on the road, defeating Deerfield Academy 47-13 to improve to 4-1 on the year.

The Big Red set the tone early with a 14-play opening drive, capped by a five-yard touchdown run up the middle from Tyrone Neal. Deerfield responded quickly, connecting on a 69-yard touchdown pass on their second play from scrimmage, then added another short rushing score late in the first quarter to take a 13-7 lead.

Exeter answered right back before the quarter ended. On a fake field goal attempt, Henry Baldic found Brayden Murch in the end zone for a touchdown to even things at 13-13.

The Big Red offense continued to roll in the second quarter. Neal found the end zone twice more—first on a five-yard rush to finish off an 11-play drive, then again on a 20-yard score on fourth-and-one—to push Exeter's lead to 27-13 at halftime.

Exeter wasted no time putting the game out of reach after the break. Caden Drobinski broke free for a 31-yard touchdown run on the opening drive of the second half, and moments later Neal sprinted 63 yards for his fourth touchdown of the afternoon to make it 40-13 midway through the third quarter. In the fourth, Fogo Filani capped the scoring with a five-yard touchdown run to seal the commanding win.

Big Red will look to keep rolling when they travel to Brunswick School next Saturday for a 3:00 p.m. kickoff.
