Football runs past Salisbury

Exeter football turned in a dominant performance on both sides of the ball, earning a 38–21 victory over Salisbury to improve to 3–1 on the season.

Big Red set the tone early. Henry Baldic opened the scoring with a 29-yard field goal, and moments later, quarterback Luca Kestenband connected with Caden Drobinski on a beautiful 21-yard strike to the back of the end zone on fourth down to make it 10–0. Exeter continued to build momentum behind a powerful ground game, led by Fogo Filani, who delivered a pair of highlight-reel runs in the second quarter. Filani first broke free for a 36-yard touchdown, then followed it up by shedding eight would-be tacklers on a 38-yard dash to the end zone, stretching the lead to 24–0 by halftime.

The Big Red didn't waste any time extending their advantage after the break. On the first play from scrimmage in the third quarter, Tyrone Neal burst through the middle of the Salisbury defense for a 53-yard touchdown run.

Salisbury managed to find some rhythm late, scoring on a 72-yard catch-and-run and capitalizing on a turnover to trim the deficit. But Exeter sealed the win when Neal powered in from two yards out for his second touchdown of the afternoon, closing out the 38–21 victory.

With the win, Exeter improves to 3–1 on the season and will look to carry its momentum into next weekend's matchup at Deerfield Academy, scheduled for Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
