The Exeter cross country program continued their impressive 2025 campaign with strong results at the Hopkinton Cross Country Festival on Saturday afternoon. The varsity girls, led by
Harper Peters and
Ava Bullock, collected a first place team finish while the boys varsity squad, led by individual winner
Bo Howland-Vlahakis, earned first place overall on the sunny 5k course.
Peters crossed first on the girls side, turning in a personal record by 51-seconds when she crossed at 18:19, good enough for third place overall. Bullock followed on her heals, turning in a PR of her own with a time of 18:22.
Norah Pratt crushed her previous PR by 64-seconds and finished 9
th overall at 19:18.
Alice Rourke captured 17
th place on the day with a time of 19:58.
On the boys side, it was Howland-Vlahakis who crossed the line first in a thrilling finish. Locked in a dead sprint in the final straight away, Howland-Vlahakis outkicked a runner from Bishop Guertin and crossed at 15:17.5, just 0.6 seconds ahead of the second place finisher. Howland-Vlahakis' time was a new personal best time by 22-seconds. Will Miller, who also set a personal record in the race, finished 12
th overall with a time of 16:29.
Truman Yee claimed 21
st overall at 16:47.
Big Red will be back in action on Saturday, October 18 when they play host to St. Paul's and Winsor School on their home course on campus. Â
