Howland-Vlahakis shines at Nike Cross Nationals

Exeter's Bo Howland-Vlahakis capped his breakout season on the national stage, lining up against the country's elite at Nike Cross Nationals at Glendoveer Golf Course in Portland, Oregon. Coming off a runner-up finish at Nike Cross Northeast, the Big Red sophomore rose to the occasion once again, turning in a poised and powerful effort against a field of 201 of the nation's top high school runners.

Howland-Vlahakis clocked 15:46.5 on the challenging, hill-laden 5k layout, placing 37th overall—a remarkable performance in one of the deepest fields in the sport. Howland-Vlahakis ran 1k splits of 3:03.2, 3:03.0, 3:19.8, 3:03.6, and 3:16.9 on the day. He finished as the third New Englander across the line and the sixth sophomore nationally.

The race marked the conclusion of an exceptional 2025 campaign for Howland-Vlahakis, a season highlighted by runner-up finishes at the New England Division I Championships and Nike Cross Northeast—and victories in every other race he entered. He ends the fall firmly among the nation's best.
