Exeter boys hockey picked up their third straight victory, skating to a 3-1 win over St. Paul's on their home ice on Friday evening. Big Red will look to extend their winning streak to four straight when they travel to Proctor for a 5:45pm tilt.
Dryden Dervish notched the opening goal of the game when he potted a power play goal from in front of the St. Paul's goal to give the hosts a 1-0 edge with nine minutes left in the second period.
The score would remain in favor of Big Red until nine minutes left in the third when St. Paul's buried a shot from the slot to even the score at 1-1. The game would not be even for long as
Gavin Fitzpatrick found the back of the net with a rocket from out front and into the top right corner of the goal just 92-seconds later as Exeter reclaimed a lead, 2-2. Brendan St. Peter would secured the victory with an empty net goal later in the period.
Brendan Petraco was strong in between the pipes for Big Red, stopping 23 shots in his first start of the season.
