Exeter girls soccer turned in a strong performance on the road, battling Nobles to a 0-0 draw in a hard-fought, season-opening matchup on Wednesday afternoon.

Big Red played with tremendous intensity throughout the afternoon, getting contributions from all over the field. Annabel Jordan turned in an excellent performance on the defensive wing, while Urania Shi helped anchor the middle of the field and consistently transitioned the ball into the attack.

Emerson Call provided a spark on the wing with a relentless work rate and several dangerous crosses into the box as Exeter continued to generate opportunities going forward.

In goal, Lilly Pate delivered a standout performance to preserve the clean sheet. Pate made several aggressive sliding saves outside the box and came up with a tremendous overhead tip save to deny a Nobles striker on a breakaway.

The Big Red defense held strong the rest of the way to secure the shutout and a well-earned draw on the road. Up next, Exeter will play host to Choate Rosemary Hall on Phelps West Field at 4:45pm on Saturday.
