Exeter girls lacrosse put together a complete performance, earning an 8-1 victory over Northfield Mount Hermon Saturday afternoon on Phelps Stadium. The win marks the second straight for Big Red after a 9-5 result against Brewster Academy on Friday night.
After conceding an early goal and falling behind 1-0 in the opening quarter, Exeter quickly found its rhythm.
Lily Lombardi sparked the turnaround in emphatic fashion, scoring five consecutive goals to fuel the offense. She netted three in the first quarter alone, helping Big Red seize control and build momentum that carried throughout the game.
From there, Exeter never looked back. The offense continued to apply pressure, while the defense delivered an outstanding, cohesive performance, limiting Northfield Mount Hermon's opportunities and keeping the visitors off the board the rest of the way.
Exeter returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Noble's for a 3:30 p.m. start.
