Wrestling places fifth at Class A Tournament

Exeter Wrestling traveled up to Bath, Maine, for the Class A Tournament at Hyde School. A total of seventeen Exeter grapplers walked away as place winners: twelve on the boys' side and five on the girls, good for fifth place as a team in both divisions. Logan Beckerle (150) and Zain Reza (165) both made the finals in the boys' division, while Sophia Chen (100), Michelle Choo (126), and Avni Murarka (235) each took home second place for the girls. Choo in particular put together an excellent day of wrestling, winning four solid matches including a gutsy overtime victory against Andover. Outside of the second-place finishers, Barry Hang (fourth place at 150) had the highlight win of the day, outlasting and out-toughing his Choate opponent in a wild 18–11 barnburner.
Exeter is back in action next weekend at the New England tournament, with a total of nine qualifiers on the boys' side and unrestricted entries on the girls'.
