Boys soccer nets season-opening win over Milton

Exeter boys soccer opened its season in style on Wednesday afternoon, earning a 4–2 victory over Milton on Lovshin Field. The win is the first for Big Red under newly minted head coach Nolan Lincoln

Big Red struck first when Will Nechipurenko put away the opening goal, but Milton answered quickly to level the score at 1–1. Jack Gibbons then gave Exeter the lead with his first tally of the day, only for Milton to respond again before halftime, sending the teams into the break tied 2–2. Exeter seized control in the second half. Gibbons struck again to make it 3–2 with 21 minutes to go before Tyler Dzembeski added the fourth and final goal to seal the win just four minutes later.

Between the posts, Tiernan Limperopoulos was outstanding, coming up with several key saves, including a penalty kick stop late in the match to preserve the victory.

With the season opener behind them, Exeter now turns its attention to a road test at Loomis Chaffee on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
