Sahinoglu's hat trick lifts boys soccer over Cushing

Exeter boys soccer captured a 4-0 victory over Cushing Academy on Wednesday afternoon. Senior Alex Sahinoglu led the way for the hosts, potting three goals and an assist on the day.

Sahinoglu opened the scoring when he tapped in a beautiful cross from Finlay Fitch in the 21st minute of play. Later in the opening half, Sahinoglu used his playmaking skills and dished a pass to Jack Gibbons who connected with a left-footed shot past the Cushing keeper to extend the lead to 2-0.

Sahionglu would strike again, this time with a full individual effort as the senior stole the ball, dribbled through a pair of Cushing defenders to ripped a beautiful right-footed strike into the right side of the goal. Sahinoglu would complete the hat trick when he beat his defender to the ball and flicked in a free kick off the foot of Henry Park to give Big Red the 4-0 victory.

Exeter will be back in action on Saturday, October 4 when they play host to Brewster Academy at 3:00pm on Phelps Stadium.
