Gibbs lifts boys lacrosse to comeback win at KUA

After falling behind 4-1 early, Exeter boys varsity lacrosse stormed back to earn a 13-8 victory over Kimball Union Academy. The Big Red took control in the second quarter and never looked back, outscoring KUA 12-4 the rest of the way in a dominant performance.

Shane McDonnell set the tone at the faceoff X, winning 22 of 25 draws to give Exeter consistent possession. Phin Gibbs led the offense with an explosive six-goal outing, while Leo Passalaqua, Church Salathe, Max Lowe, Alex Field, and Ryan Ehrgott each added key goals in the balanced attack.

Defensively, Cole Meyer, Will Murphy, and Rand Shepard anchored a unit that clamped down after the first quarter. Goalie Jack Marquardt stood tall in net, helping seal the win with a string of key saves down the stretch.

Exeter will look to make it four straight wins when they battle Proctor Academy at 4:00p in Phelps Stadium.
