Exeter girls varsity volleyball battled back to outlast St. Paul's School for a 3–2 victory inside Love Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
Big Red earned the win with set scores of 25–16, 20–25, 18–25, 25–15, and 15–11.
Clare McCann and
Kruthika Annapareddy led the attack with strong hitting at the net, while
Liv Lang kept the offense moving with sharp passing and consistent serving.
Quinn Dabney made her presence felt on both sides of the net, turning away multiple St. Paul's attempts and contributing key points in critical moments.
After taking the opening set 25–16, Exeter dropped the next two to fall behind 2–1. The hosts regrouped in the fourth, as Lang opened the set with five straight service points to spark the rally. An ace from Annapareddy later stretched Big Red's lead to 12–4, and Exeter cruised to a 25–15 win to force a decisive fifth set.
Riding that momentum, Big Red raced out to a 5–1 lead in the final frame. St. Paul's battled back to make it 9–7, but Exeter held firm, closing the match on a 6–4 run to secure the hard-fought victory.
Exeter will return to Love Gymnasium on Wednesday to host Austin Prep at 4:15 p.m.
