Girls soccer collects first win at Holderness

The Exeter girls soccer team earned their first win of the season with a commanding 5-0 victory over Holderness. From the opening whistle, Exeter dominated possession, putting relentless pressure on the Holderness defense.

The breakthrough came early in the first half, with a powerful strike from forward Elle Perry who finished a feed from Morgan Signore, giving Exeter a 1-0 lead. The one goal edge played until halftime.
In the opening minute of the second half, Perry extended the Big Red advantage to 2-0 when she buried another crossing pass, this time from Ella Shea. Shea would find the back of the net with a goal of her own midway through the second half when she connected on a shot from the left side of the box that sailed high into the right side of the goal to build Exeter's lead to 3-0.

Shea tallied her second goal of the game when she headed in a perfectly placed corner kick from Audrey Kim to make it 4-0. The final tally of the match came from Josie Scoll when she tucked a shot into the lower left side of frame to give Big Red a 5-0 victory.

Aubrey Silvestri earned the clean sheet in goal while Riley Jernigan and Ellen Orr anchored a strong defensive effort.

The girls JV soccer team also picked up their second straight victory at Holderness, topping the Bulls by a score of 2-1. The varsity squad will return to the pitch on Friday when they play host to Austin Prep in Phelps Stadium for a 5:00pm start before both the varsity and JV will head to Cambridge, MA to battle Buckingham, Browne, and Nichols on Saturday at 1:00pm
