Big Red Crew caps season with top-15 finishes at U.S. Rowing Nationals

Exeter Crew enjoyed a remarkable week on the national stage this past weekend at the U.S. Rowing Youth National Championships, as the girls boat surged to a seventh-place finish in the country and the boys claimed 13th overall, capping off a historic season.

The weekend culminated on Sunday with two strong final performances. The girls launched down the course in the A Final, finishing in 6:45.57 to secure seventh place in the nation—one of the program's best-ever results on the national stage. Last season, Big Red girls crew finished tenth overall in the country. After advancing through time trials and semifinals, Exeter's top girls eight proved showcased their talent among the country's elite. The girls top boat featured Amelia Post, Sophia Slosek, Nora Unger, Charlotte Dassori, Chloe Bosma, Sophia Turner, Evie Gaylord, Ava Cathey, and Victoria Mabardy.

The boys took the water in the B Final and delivered a hard-fought race to finish fifth in their final with a time of 5:57.08. That result placed them 13th overall in the country. The boys crew was made up of Bill O'Connor, Peter Roper, Finn Lorden, Arian Khichadia, Matthew Minor, Emmett Nomellini, Ryan Chen, Mason Cotter, and Rohit Kantamneni.

Both crews earned their place in Sunday's finals through strong performances earlier in the regatta. On Thursday, the girls posted a time of 6:14.77 in the time trials to rank seventh overall, while the boys clocked in at 5:31.00 to place eighth. Friday's semifinals brought fierce competition: the girls surged to a third-place finish in their semifinal (6:35.49) to advance to the prestigious A Final, while the boys fought through a stacked semifinal to place seventh (5:53.81) and earn a spot in the B Final.

Both Exeter boats rose to the challenge at every stage of the regatta, pushing themselves against the country's best and proving they belong among the nation's premier high school rowing programs.
