Girls hockey opens campaign with win over Govs

Exeter girls varsity hockey opened the season with a gritty 2-0 win over Governors Academy. Newcomer Grace Riley notched her first goal in red with a first-period snipe on an assist from Erin Sears. Goaltender Allie Bell stood tall between the pipes making several big saves down the stretch to secure the shutout. Lauren Xu added an empty netter with assists going to Mia Griffith and Dominique Reiher to seal the deal for Big Red. 
 
Exeter will return to the ice on Wednesday when they welcome Milton Academy to campus for a 4:00pm puck drop.
