Exeter girls crew traveled to Lowell, Massachusetts to compete in the Textile River Regatta and came home with some hardware as Ava Cathey and Evie Gaylord teamed up and won the women's junior 2x race.

Cathey and Gaylord, who helped deliver the Big Red 8+ crew to a New England championship and a tenth-place finish at the U.S. Youth Nationals last spring, conquered the 4,500 meter course in dominant fashion. The senior duo finished with a time of 18:37.681, besting the second-place crew by 27 seconds. Big Red also saw success in the women's junior 8+ race where Exeter claimed eighth place overall out of sixteen crews in the event.

Exeter will take the water again on Sunday, October 20^th when they travel to Cambridge, MA for the historic Head of the Charles Regatta.
