Coach Simmons joined the Big Red Volleyball staff in 2026. Previously, Simmons dedicated 15 years to coaching local middle school, high school and club volleyball. She spent 15 years working with the volleyball program at Exeter High School, where she worked her way up the ranks from program assistant to heading up the varsity squad for six seasons. In her club experience, she has coached at all ages and skill levels ranging from U-14's to U-18’s divisions. In this program, she coached a U-14 Elite Team to a National AAU bid in 2024.

Her philosophy in coaching is driven by creating a resilient athletic mindset and developing strong fundamentals to create self-confidence in student-athletes.

Coach Simmons' playing career began in the town of Exeter, where she attended the local school system. She was a three sport athlete and played four years of volleyball (three years on varsity and two years as captain). She then went on to play at NCAA Division III college volleyball at Hartwick College (class of 2008), where she was a four year starter, and a three year captain. She holds career records for career blocks, career kills, and she also received The Sportswoman of the Year Award in the Empire 8 Division in both 2006 and 2007.

Coach Simmons is excited to join the Exeter community and coaching staff and hopes to learn and grow alongside the athletes, while pushing them to reach their full potential on and off the court. Go Big Red!
