Joe Gaudet

  • Title
Assistant Coach, Boys Varsity Ice Hockey
Gaudet arrived in Exeter from Holderness School, where he taught English and coached hockey and baseball. He holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. from University of Michigan and a B.A. from Dartmouth College.

As a hockey coach at Holderness, he helped elevate the program to one of the top teams in New England, earning two Elite Eight and four-straight NEPSAC postseason berths, posting the four best single-season records in school history (including a program-best 25-3-0 season), winning the first Lakes Region Championship in school history, and posting an overall record of 84-18-7. During that time, he coached the top offense in New England, four-straight top-ten defenses, and helped numerous players advance to the division one college level, the division three college level, the USHL, BCHL, NAHL, and other junior leagues. Before coaching, he played four years of college hockey at Dartmouth, where he was an assistant captain and a member of the school’s first Ivy League Championship team in nearly three decades.
Gaudet serves as an instructor in the English Department on campus.
